Daryl, I've got a few hundred various 75 grain bullets on hand to play with, but plan to try 60 gn flat points, 70gn blitzkings, and a few types of 86 grainers w/light charges. Ellis regulated it for 75 grain speer flat points with 12.0 grains of AA1680 for 1950fps. This is 0.5 grains below max, which I figured would give me more flexibility to adjust charges both up and down if I decided to use a new bullet if the speers get discontinued at some point. Since this is primarily a fun gun/plinker along with something to shoot the occasional rabbit or fox, I'm not too particular. I also plan to use this to teach my son rifle and shotgun shooting when he's older. John, the gun weighs about 7lb (scoped w/rifle barrels) and was made by Fausti for import into the US by Traditions as a fairly simple but well made gun. The 410 SxSs that I looked at for this combo project all seemed to be either $75-100 economy guns or many thousands of dollars with almost nothing in between. I think these retailed in the US for around $900-1000 but I got a nice deal on this second hand in new condition. Bob |
