I have Ellis's book and can't recommend it enough. Ellis shows not only his successes but also shares his failures which is so important to any aspiring double gunsmith because it is not all smooth sailing. But as I learned while welding the difference between a good weld and a bad one is often just a pass away. One must endeavor to persevere. Glad your here Mr. Brown.
