Re: .303 Improved for a Dbl rifle on shotgun action

Ahhh just wondered. I ended up with a 303 Imp as I sort of got lumbered with this Century Arms P-14 sprter and the chamber was soooooooooo tight it was a PITA. After much deliberation I had Norman Clark of Rugby ream the chamber to .303 Epps but I actually got the case shown:-

One day I will have to re-machine the action to a proper contour. I don't know who Century used to make the barrels but like the Ruger No1's it's what we would consider "Oversize". I had one of these although mine was slightly used instead of new (newly converted that is) and mine shot well. In fact I shot it quite often at 600 yards and Bisley.

Now if I was to attempt a shotgun 303 conversion then the old COgswell & Harrison NE might be worth looking at. Sorry o photos of it but it's a plain colonial model and has a slightly heavier action BLNE than the norml English game gun and has the Greener cross bolt but it's straight hand stocked though.... Will have to have a browse about and see what's being offered around these parts out of interest. I cannot do anyhting about ti but can dream and sort of work it out.
