Nice choice Ron. 6.5x55 is definately mainstream. Good cartridge. If you are going to go with a wildcat like the 6.5-06, why not just find a round that you like, and run a rimmed case into the sizer. Ran a 7x57R into a 257 roberts die to have an easier conversion in a single shot a few years back. Standard reamer and just had to cut the rim recesses on the lathe. With available 9.3x74r brass as a basis, you can make practically any .470 base round up to the -06 length. Good luck. Cheers, Tom |
