thanks for posting - really great to see the work in progress. Nice to see the "original" Rigby lock plate shape being used again. Two Questions for you. 1. I noticed that the "loop" part of the third bite (for want of a better word), the bit that goes over the rising third bite is not currently part of the rib. I had always though it was made as an integral part of the rib as an extension but looking at your photos, do you solder it on or dovetail it on later ? 2. Are you going to be using bushed strikers or due to not being any real need for them now (primers don't exactly break much nowadays), are you not going to have them or only as an option ? Would be interested to know. I will have to get mine out (made 1905) and have a look at it and see if it has a join in it. |
