On polished bearings races it does leave a slight white film that wipes off with a clean rag. The 'green' non-florinated stuff doesn't seem to work as well as the florinated IMO.
I'd use this rather than be beaten soundly about the head and shoulders by SWMBO for sticking anything in her dishwasher!
