Thanks for the quick replies. I am unfamiliar with the "old" Stevens rigs (But I do shoot a current Stevens 25-06 bolt gun), so it is good to hear a little bit more about them.

Anyway, like I said, I had read a couple posts here about guys doing builds off 16 gauges, but the general trend was that most tend to lead towards 12 gauge receivers if given a choice. So it looks like I`ll be taking a pass on this one. Thanks again!
