I saw this thread, but Tom only has double actions for calbiers up to 9.3mm. I feel that a company like American Gun Company that machines there own actions, but outsources the casting maybe able to do it at less cost. They also can make an action for those who want true big bore N.E. cartridges. There 1885 High Wall kit with barrel and wood is reasonably priced. While you would still need barrels, machining, regulation, sights, etc. you would have a true modern double action at less cost than a new Searcy double, possbily even less than a Clark Custom Conversion http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/DblRifle.html. J.J. Perodeau http://www.champlinarms.com/Default.aspx?tabid=28 will regulate for $600.00 and there are others out there that will do the same, Todd Ramirez http://www.customgun.com/Double_Rifles.html. Just a thought, let me know if I am dreaming. |
