I took Tech. College class, in MN, from W. Ellis Brown on this very subject, prior to his writing first edition of book on this subject, and have made many such conversions with great success. I think that he intends book to be more for somewhat experienced gunsmiths or machinists, rather than for beginners or those thinking that they might make such conversion work in their garage over the week-end. That is my opinion, and I could be wrong. Mr. Brown is a very nice, well meaning enthusiastic guy, and I found his books to be very good, but, of course, not for someone who knows nothing about such work.
