Re: .303 British Double Rifle Project

As anyone who lives here in the northeastern part of North America knows, it hasn't stopped raining since mid-June. Based on the fact that it was rainy and muggy I thought that there was plenty of humidity to facilitate the rusting process. WRONG! Both of my rusting cycles yesterday produced very disappointing results. This morning, after carding and application of another coat, I hung the barrels in my drying cabinet with an aluminum tray full of HOT water sitting on top of the two light bulbs at the bottom. VOILA ! Tonight the barrels were covered with a lovely, even coat of fine red rust. Onwards and upwards!
