Mr. Phillips,
You are apparently working out of the 1st Edition. You are correct in your assesment of the pressure. The 32,000+ PSI was a typo (should have been 12,000) and has been corrected in the 2nd Edition (the 2nd Edition states "13,000+psi").

I appologize for the confusion. When I had people edit the book, they mostly read for content, gramatical, and spelling errors, no one double checked my math, which as you have discovered, was a problem. Unfortunately, there is an error in the 2nd Edition as well. When I "cut and pasted" trying to correct errors from the 1st Edition, I created an error in the 2nd Edition that was not caught. It has to do with the calculation of the area of the head diameter of the rifle cartridge.
