To the best of my knowledge, automotive solder is still about 60% lead and 40 % solder. The British, among others, have built wonderful side by side guns and rifles for centuries, using such a solder. However, where a GOOD solder joint with lead/tin has a strength of about 4000psi, the strength of a GOOD solder joint with HiForce 44 solder is up around 28,000 psi.
