If I did this right, there will be 10 photos of my newest 'barn find', a 16 guage Auguste Francotte Brevete A Leige shotgun an elderly friend and I found in his barn. Until I saw the 0.008" set-back primer indents in the breech face I was considering making it into a 45-70, perhaps Black Powder. Now, I'm not so sure... Perhaps it'd be okay with the addition of firing pin bushings. It does have a Greener Crossbolt, but the hole through the rib is peened with a chisel. It is in as-found condition, less a bunch of cobwebs and sparrow sh**. It has 25" barrels with what appear to be decent bores. No Buttstock or triggerguard. The old gent thinks he has the triggerguard, however. The gun has the number "2" on the top rib and the top lever. I suspect it is one of a set? Anybody have any thoughts on this one? Moderator, if I screwed up the photos, feel free to fix them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
