Re: Express Sight Interest?

The 3 leaf rear sight is the one I put on my .69 cal. sporting rifle. Brownell's sells them separately from the base as that's how and where I bought mine. In 1986, it was $94.00 - $165.00 landed here. Yes- it was expensive back then, not so much now.
; The point blank sight is zero'd for 100 meters with the hunting charge. The first leaf is also a shallow "V" with a small knotch in the middle, zero'd for 150 meters, while the second leaf is zero'd for 200 meters. The last leaf is zero'd for 300 meters for the steel plate we shot at local rendezvous until politicaly motivated police orders made us shorten the range to 300. The 300 meters leaf has come into it's own at other rendezvous and makes hitting at long range quite easy. Load 165gr. 2F in a 14 bore rifle, 480gr. RB in pure lead, cloth patch while 466gr. in WW metal, paper ctg. for fast 8 second re-load and shot - yes- an easy 7 shots per minute, better than the .69 cal. muskets used by the US military in the 18th and 19th centuries, and from a .69 cal. rifle, yet one capable of 1-1/2MOA accuracy off the bench with that load.
