Re: wtb - 416 Taylor dies

Well, already been down that road.

CH4D told me 15 to 24 months for delivery - Although Lee offered them in the past for $40, they now lists them as "custom" - Lee told me it would be a $350 set-up fee, and then $165 for a 3 die set. I haven't bothered to call Hornady or Redding for fear they also would be too expensive.

Can you get somebody local to open 338Win Mag dies necks to 416 then reharden. I know a few in Aust do that with dies where it is just the neck needs doing.

I waited 3 years for CH4D to do a set of 358/338 RUM dies. Informed them all they had to do was run a 358 neck reamer into their 338RUM dies before hardening. Got sick of waiting after numerous excuses so after 2 years just sent Lee 3 fired case (don't know what I would have done if I did not have fired cases) and had the dies with in 2 months and the cost was very reasonable. Anyhow after 3 years CH4D contacted me and told me my 338, yes 338 RUM dies were ready, US$450 thank you. I politely told them what I thought and why.
