For reloading -- presumably the next step, after ammo & brass -- I'd suggest paper patching a .257 cast bullet (2 wraps of .002"-.004" paper), sizing down the patched bullet as necessary to seat and chamber, and working up a load from there. I've been doing something like that in 6.5x55, with good results. At the moment I'm happy with 1500 fps in my 6.5x55, but paper patch will work fine at 2200 fps and beyond, if that's what you prefer.

FWIW, I would not use an undersized jacketed bullet. I tried that with .30 cal. bullets in .303 British, some time ago, and after about 2 years everything would keyhole, which I think means I gas cut the throat & rifling leade until it would no longer spin .30 cal. bullets. Fortunately, that rifle still works with larger diameters (and paper patch).
