I had a very nice Mauser TypeA in 6.5 Portuguese and, although I never shot the rifle, I was able to take 7x57 brass and use my 6.5 Dutch dies to neck and set the shoulder to chamber with reasonable bolt closure resistance so I think that fire forming would be quite feasible.
Brass may end up a tiny bit short but should work just fine.
