Martini 577/450 Carbine Sporter $1000 A lightweight very handy sporter - 6lb 8.5oz. Meant to use the "Carbine" charge and so marked. Strong Henry rifling. Sound wood with a horn forend tip. Sling eyes on barrel and butt. Newer case colors on action and butt plate. Newer blacking to barrel, trigger group, safety and cocking indicator. There is a bur in the chamber which still needs to be smoothed out. It tends to scrape cases on extration. Shootable as is but that needs to be sorted. I. Hollis & Sons .500BPE 3" $2000 Jones underlever - locks up tight. Rebounding hammers. A great first BPE rifle or a double you wouldn't hesitate to take out in the woods. Overall, a sound rifle. The action has been buffed and blacked - kind of shiny. The wood has various nicks etc. and there is a little gapping around the locks. The bores have strong Henry rifling. Frosted throughout but very shootable. I have shot this rifle with no issues. |
