Re: Krag Sporting Rifle

Hi Daryl

I hope all is well with you and your family up there.

Yes this rifle runs the 30 Army
I don't have a large selection of moulds for the 300 bore, with my selection being both old Ideal moulds - a 311-284 and a 308-375

The 311-284 was designed for the Krag. It produces long round nosed gas checked bullets weighing right about 219 grains, sized, checked, and lubed. Mine is a two cavity mould, and it had been throwing bullets featuring an undersized bore rider section.
I've lapped one of the cavaties up to 301 and I'll be running those in this rifle soon. That bore rider section had been 299 and wasn't working out with any of the three Krags here.

The 308-375 is also a gas check, bore rider type mould, but it's a single cavity mould that throws a shorter spitzer shaped bullet weighing right about 170 grains. It's bore rider section comes out to 301
The bullet looks much like the 311334, only not as long

I size them at 311, which is about as big a bullet as will fit in the neck of a fired case from any of these rifles here.

If you have a spare set of 311334 blocks, send them down here and I'll give it a go.
