The 34's are good rifles for "springers" - well done.

The high power .177's do just fine. I used my .177 HW 97 and .22 HW 98 for gophers to 55 yards the last 2 years. The .177 was easier than the .22 due to the larger, heavier pellet's excessive drop past 25 yards.

These guns of mine are only 14.5fpe. In England the normal limit is 12fpe. My .22 cal. PCP runs 25fpe, much better for the longer ranges, of course.

A good working springer is nice as you do not have to carry an air 'supply' with you if you want to take more than 20 or so shots. Just cock, load and shoot.
