Anything made in Germany has always been over engineered to billyo!
If they built such a precision instrument like that do you think they'd fit it to a 2 bob set of mounts.........NAH!
Every single piece would have had shear tests done on it metal wise to withstand the recoil forces applied under firing conditions, even those fine crosshairs themselves!
Just goes to show that quality does come with a price & that fine pieces of history such as this should be loving restored!
Most probably it will still be going well & truly after we're dead & long gone!
I do hope that it stays in a good home & treasured, passed down from father to son so they understand that everything modern even though it might be bigger & faster is not a replacement for tradition.
Put that little Zeiss on a pre war Mauser in 7x64mm - now that would be a nice piece of kit!
