Yeah - I'd agree with your hypothesis, Lancaster, except I was a 6 foot tall, 182 pound kid by the time I hit grade 9 at 14 years old, I think. That's when I became interested in shooting something larger than ground hogs, ie: the huge black bears of northern Ontario up to 450/500 actual pounds. At the time, I was shooting 12 pound ground hogs with a Remington 6.5 Mag.
