Bakposten and Daryl, you are talking about two completely different Krag actions, the US one and the Norwegian. The american is a much weaker action, relying on just one locking lug. The Norse Krag has effectively two lugs, as the bolt guide rib bears on the receiver bridge too. The actions are so much different that probably not a single part is interchangeable. AFAIK when in WW2 Norway was occupied by the Germans, they tried to produce Norse Krags in 8x57IS at the Kongsberg arsenal. these prooved to be insufficiently strong for the then current German military loads. |
