I was surprised myself, too.
However: Many were quite exorbitantly priced... Original Russian Army ones in 7,62x53R up to 1000€! Whoopsie.
Then again, for the hunter there were many customized ("spoiled"?) ones that could make decent projects.
Also some good restoration projects.
