Paul, In many cases you would be correct,BUT, I have found that if you are calling them in close,just about any gun that shoots a decent size shot load, will kill them cleanly if you head shoot them and they are withing 20 yards or less. I use one ounce of six shot and a fairly light powder charge and have not lost one with it yet. It seems to bring me good luck in turkey hunting, but I suspect that it has to do with the fact that I know I have to have them close. I have actually had to wait on a couple of turkeys till they got a little further away before I shot them. Two I could have touched with the gun barrels had I been quick enough. That kind of exciting hunt is why I still love to hunt turkeys. Bob H. |
