This little rifle is quite unique, I think. You may enjoy this, and maybe one of you knows more about it. Action is a Martini-type tilting block, and yes, it's a take-down. Signed on barrel and action: "St. Jllichmann in Wien". I have not found any reference of this gunmaker. Vienna BP proof ca. 1896 and later Nitro reproof. Caliber is 9.3x57R/360, the continental brother of the .360 Express 2 1/4. Has nice little features like flip-up peep sight, cartridge trap in the buttplate, stag horn forend cap. The rifle has seen quite some use, the wood has dents and scratches, metal has some stains and rust scars, but technically everything is fine. The bore is very good, and the rifle shoots as good as I can aim with open sights. This one is waiting for a roe deer. Fuhrmann |
