I would think a set of Mantons would bring more than a set of Mortimers, all else equal. How can this seller think the Scot Mortimer was "one of London's top makers"?

I agree with you that the Mortimers appear to be nice, but my comments are limited to the somewhat erroneous description and the low-grade photos. My inquiry to the seller is yet to be answered.

I would think your estimate of price is over the top, but I confess little knowledge of these things. Now a pair of Jones action breech loaders with rifled barrels would be rippers!

In the end, my comments probably just illustrate my profound ignorance. Opinions from others?
