Due to using a spray, mine were placed nose down (little holes) into a piece of harder foam. I then sprayed the bullets with MS Moly just as I've done with my .17 cal. jacketed bullets. Afro - interesting - at jacketed speeds? Like 2,400fps to 2,500fps? What alloy? When I ran cast at jacketed speeds, 250gr. at 2,700fps in a .375, I first hardened the cast bullets in the oven and used LBT Blue. No leading and MOA accuracy - in 1982, after buying and absorbing Veral's (LBT) book. It would be easier just to size the bullets, harden then spray or tumble, load and shoot. With no lube, there's no lube to pick up dust or other contaminents and grease grooves can be outside the case for better match of bullet to throat. I'll have to try that some time and see what happens. Thanks for that nugget of knowledge, Boys. |
