G'Day Fella's, I was contemplating paper patching a couple of different caliber bullets ( .270 to 7mm & .416 to .423"). I remember reading about a book by Mr ? Mathews on the subject, that is available from Wolfe Publishing in the US. These are the publishers of the very good, Rifle and Handloader magazines. I remember also reading about the type of paper you need to use for paper patching and the fact that you can't use just any old pages, as a lot of paper makers use clay in making the paper! This clay can be quite abrasive to the metal of your rifle barrel, so they recommend you use "Onion Skin" type paper! Go grab an Onion from the pantry and have a look at it, The dry outer Onion Skin I mean! Then go to a source/shop that sells quality paper and ask them about the Clay Content in the Onion Skin type paper and get a few pages. and go from there! Hope that helps Doh! Homer |
