So, the sizing the nose to .410 worked, til I got to the range. It appears this blend has some springback to it. Had to apply a little force to semi-breechseat a few of them, they shot just fine, which they should, when jammed into the lands about a rim's thickness and a bit.Measured some when I got home, the nose was back at .412 again. Ran them with 45-48gr of AA5744, no pressure signs at all with the 48gr load, even when semi-breechseated. they chrono'd at 1975-2000fps (Oehler 35P) with the 320gr LBT WFN-GC with the 416 Gator checks on them.Shot only 8 rds as I didn't have "proper" equipt with me to drive them in. No sign of leading. About a 3" offhand group at 50, same at 100 off the bench, I wasn't trying too hard to shoot groups. bit windy. Used the LBT Blue soft lube. Turning the existing crimp groove into another lube groove and cutting another crimp groove forward of it at the same spacing would cure this issue. And they are a whole bunch nicer to shoot than the 400gr DGX or DGS factory loads. I shot a box of those off today as well. I have yet to get them shooting over 2037 avg. I am starting to get a feel for this gun, like it. So, next loading will be the 48gr load of AA5744 again with the 320LBT and I will size them full length at .411 and not crimp them, just seat a bit deeper and try it that way. |
