I'm not building yet. But I have thought of building the Penobscot compound bow. The one the Penobscot Indians made without training wheels centuries ago. I may get a roughed out kit form first. It is getting the right time of year to cut staves. So I may go for cutting some Bois de Arc and mulberry staves. The mulberry wood is closely related to the Bois de Arc and may be a good wood.
