I have one being made in New Zealand at the moment, by a mate's dad. Can't wait to get it. Damascus blade, to my design with his flair. Here's a sample of his work:

African ebony handle
stainless finger guard
stainless pommel with four pins and epoxyed on
3mm thick blade at spine in front of finger guard
slight flex in blade at tip
took a couple of weeks to make
