Concerning the arrow leaving the rest and the opportuneness of swaping for a biscuit rest : just my 2 cents.
The biscuit rest will solve the manifestation of the problem but not the cause.
The cause is a torque in holding the riser. I don't think this is due to too powerful a bow for your son is a no weakling. It could be a not perfect position when shooting. Ask an hold hand to look at your son when he is shooting, he'll uncover a detail wrong somewhere.
If he is still shooting at game, a biscuit will enable him to harvest fast. I failed getting a couple of animal because my arrow left the rest, the cause was the adrenaline rush.
