That would be fun - We a simlar sort of "Duel" at rendezvous with our muzzle loading rifles. It was a one shot event, fired at 50 yards on 8" steel plates - both rifles held, muzzle down, at 'ready', in both hands. On command, they'd mount the rifle and shoot at their plate. The other man's 'plate' was removed from his line of sight instantly upon the strike of the ball, as the plate struck swung back, making the other to swing to the front, to inline with the upright shaft, becoming invisible. In 4 years of use, I never saw a tie. My 14 bore, & note this, no matter who shot it, won every single time - English bore-rifle styling, unbeatable in style. |
