I would tend to agree with Daryl. I would start out with a recurve or a long bow, no sights, bare bow. Then later decide if you want to go to a compound. Myself I shoot mostly longbow, it's just a lot more fun. And after going to several Longbow Safaris I believe I still have 9 of my original 12 wooden arrows. Al
