It does seem as if the americans like the short blade quite a bit. I visit the knife forum on 20hr campfire and there are a number of makers who have knives with similar proportions. I think they are more inclined to knife a skin off and use a different knife for other dressing chores, whereas I use the one knife for both skinning and dressing or breaking the animal down. I do like the way you have your handle shapes as it does allow for the reversed hold that many of the finger notched handles make difficult,and the canvas micarta material, apart from the very good looks, especially with the red liners, will give a great bloody handed grip. |
