Re: Utility Skinner

Well maybe a bit more info needed ?

The Canvas Micarta handle maybe looks hard and slippery but when it gets wet the canvas stands and it's like holding onto a piecs of canvas. When it dries it goes back to the way I finished it.It doesn't dent like timber only extreme heat will discolour it.Is a bit heavier than timber though.

The ATS34 Stainless steel I have to buy from America even though it is made in Japan. I have used it on nearly all of my knives [over 10 years] and so far have never had a complaint. It is used in the fans in Jet motors so can withstand heat, cold and impact very well.

I have tried to put enough sweep onto the edge to use for skinning but with enough point to break down the knee joints etc.

The edge is sharp enough to shave the print off Newspaper.

If it doesn't sell here that's OK because I have sold one in Greart Britain as well as a couple in Aus. to Hunters, but it is not just a 'funny looking' play knife.

I would appreciate any comment-----I can take it.

Thanks Fellas

Clive.
