Re: Howard Hill Longbows Tearing-up the Paper Javelina in the NT

Small world Bob. Yes - probably met or saw you at one or more.

It was my wife who placed 5th top shooter out of 520 at the Souke B.C. Safari (bearing 515 shooters). She beat me by 74 points and my brother (exceptional day for me), who is BC's champion longbow bow/hunter class champ for many years by well over 100 points. The next Safari was at Golden BC & they's ceased scoring for placment. I don't remember which #'s they were.

We were told there were too many guys had their noses out of joint over being beaten by my wife. HA! I thought it was incredible and not the first time for me.

The modern-made Longbows are fun, but I have to be quite careful about a re-acurring tendenitis. My 74# Tembo and 81# Harvester gave me that affliction in both elbows - badly! Couldn't shoot for over 2 years.

Now, I find I can shoot the 65# Hickory D-section bow, a bit - 73" between knocks and very smooth. I'm going to tiller it down to about 52#, so I can shoot it more often.

I started making self bows back about 1987, if I had to guess at a date.
