I have had no problem with penetration with my carbon arrows. I still blow right through deer shooting my Mathews Ultramax @ 66 pounds. Elk are the same as long as you do not hit the shoulder......those big shoulder blades stop all arrows

Best bet is to hold back a bit & hit the soft double lung region. In which case they die as fast as deer.

Looks like there are some good opportunities for the archery hunter down in OZ. How many of those duffs can you take in a year? Is the license expensive? How about the cost of a tag for us crazy American archery hunters LOL
