Yea,I shot a compound for years & then noticed one day that alot of game had been taken with just a stick & string& flint arrowheads.I felt it was more primitive & Trditional.About as far as i could or wanted to go was the recurve though.Fred Bear shot a recurve and that was good enough for me.I have always tried to copy his style the most and have used his image as a mentor,hero,sportsman,to be admired& to be responsiable.If i could ever be anything remotely close to what he has done for the good image of archery,I will be doing good.Besides i figure i could miss just as cleanly with a compound as a recurve.I can throw a rock or flip a fishing hook on the end of a rod at 25yards.I should be able to sling a arrow!!! You know what i mean. Get a nice traditional bow that you like & feels good,you will like it & learn it.You can switch back & forth also.I think a compound is far superior for long range shooting & Targets & low holding weight.Recurves and longbows are accurate & Deadly & fast!!!I think they look good to..... |
