Anyone getting ready for the upcoming seasons? Where are you headed? I will be hunting The Colorado High country again in less than 3 months now. I have tuned my bow and have been parcticing several times a week. I shoot 3 groupsa of 5 arrows at 20,30,40,50 & 60 yards. By the time September omes around I will be more than ready. Then in October it is deer season here in PA The hardest part of getting ready for Colorado is the physical training. Running a very steep 5 mile stretch 5-6 times a week along with morning runs of 2 miles daily. This gets harder every year as I approach 40 LOL. Once I am into it for s few weeks I feel fine. But those first few weeks are pure hell The off season makes me very lethargic Anyway, I am well into my routine now. Chasing elk should not be so bad.........and the motivation is there The hardest part is hiking, runnning, clawing & climbing into bow range...50 yards max for me, I prefer 40 & under. |
