I-too almost went left handed, but couldn't hold even a long bow in my right hand. I'd tore the cartilage in both front and back of my right shoulder, but without damaging the rotator cuff. It took 8 months to get an MRI, which showed the damage, vividly. I was referred to an Orthopedic surgeon. My cousin, a GP Dr. visited from Ontario visited and said there is little to nothing they can do for my shoulder, to stop babying it and work it as hard as I could stand the pain in order to build up the shoulder muscle again around the joint. I worked the shoulder while waiting for the specialist's call, which never came. After 18 months, I walked into the Surgeon's office & talked to his receptionist. He came out into the office as i guess I was being louder than necessary. I then informed his of how bloody rude and inconsiderate he was to not even acknowledge me as his patiend - that he and his receptionist were my employees and that his ass was fired. That was last fall. Now, 2 years after having the MRI, my shoudler can take the recoil of my .375, 12 bore pelters and 14 bore Sporting rifle. I can pull my 64# Fox longbow and my 70 pound sightless compound with ease. There's hope and it doesn't always come from a Dr.'s office. |
