I have had a ZP49 since 1978, when I bought it new in Nairobi; plainer than yours but I like to think of it as my Funeral Model. It came choked full and full, and I eventually had Briley thin wall tubes installed (for more than the gun cost), and had it bent to fit me. It has been totally reliable and the choke tubes make it very versatile; I have killed everything from sand grouse to topi (with a slug) with it. Since hanging round double gun forums I have accumulated some higher grade guns, but the Brno is still my first baby. I just wish I could load a .470 in one barrel for those awkward buffalo moments. |
