I have been looking at a Jones BLNE 12g that I found on the net for sale by a private party. Here are the specs that the seller gave me; 28" bbls, double triggers > Stock dimensions: neutral cast on nice wood , 14 1/4 - 1 5/8 - 2 3/8 > Greener cross bolt, action tight, on face, no wobble. > 2 3/4 inch ! not 2 1/ 2 inch > proofed for 1 1/8 oz loads > choked 1/2 and 5/8 > Reddish English walnut to horn buttplate > good scroll engraving > 6 1/2 lbs > marked " New Barrels by Carswell" ( If it's sleeved I can't see the joint.) > Proofs indicate proof after 1925 and again after 1989 > R Jones located in Yorkshire thru 1990, while Carswell was from Liverpool. > Shotgun has both Birmingham and London proofs. Carswell purchased Jones, exact date unknown, but relatively recently. > I bought this about 6 yrs ago from Duncan Hill at Hill Rod and Gun in Bozeman. Shot less than > 5 bx through since that time. Here are some pictures; What do you guys think? How much do you think it is worth? Any info or advice appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
