The 2 gold labels I’ve seen in person had wood no where near as nice as the pic above.

I to was disappointed in the shotgun. I have quite a few Rugers and one of my favorites is a Woodside. That has nice wood and while the wood is still not flush with the metal it is 100 times better than the gold label. It is only slightly above metal and then there is a nice radius to the edges so they aren’t a sharp contrast.

I’ll try to shoot some pics of it the next time I get to the father-in-laws.

P.S. – I should mention that it is one of the straight grip models. So I’m not sure about the feel of the pistol grip model.
