jep, we collecting old metal for a while now for experiments. my greatest hope lies in old band saws blades with carbide tips. These carbide cutting edges are no longer soldered with brass like it was once but welded, and therefore don't fall off when heated. this means that if you weld these band saws to other steel and then knead them together, these carbide tips will be distributed throughout the material. it must look fantastic. |
