Further to this, we are left wondering what happened to Vouzelaud's "Live Quarry" steel cartridges that were claimed to be safe in any choke due to their cleverly designed wad. ...and safe in any CIP-proved gun due to standard pressures. Their website is HERE. When this French cartridge hit the UK market a couple of years ago, it was a 28 gram load of UK No.3 steel. The UK importers (Charles Lancaster) were touting the imminent introduction of a 2 1/2 inch cartridge with reduced payload (24 grams of UK No.4 steel) and pressure suitable for vintage Purdeys etc, but there doesn't seem to be much follow-up. If I can find a more recent web review or youtube clip on this I'll post the link. ...but the chances of Australian importers going to the trouble of catering to a niche market are slim to none! |
