My collector mate and I have been conspiring to toss up a rack of Jefferys at the next Arms Collectors' display at one of the rural shows.

I have a .400 double and a 6.5 Mannlicher, while my friend has original Jeffery Mausers in .404 and .275. We badly needed a nice shotgun to make the set of five.

Done and dusted!

Trouble is, history has left us with no known photo or portrait of William Jackman Jeffery to augment the display!
Without back-story or provenance, to the general public these guns are just things.
Nice things, mind!

Should add, I had been hanging out for an affordable Jeffery sidelock, particularly their London Pattern with No.2 Design engraving, but pretty sure I would end up in the grave still waiting!

This little box-lock ejector will certainly tide me over.
