The drier than normal conditions in the Northern Territory this year have concentrated the ducks on a small number of waterholes which have not yet dried up. We had a challenging time the other weekend 'down the track', trying to pick a few teal out from amongst the huge flocks of whistle-ducks, with limited success! Here's a mixed bag of grey teal and whistlers from an afternoon session on a fast-receeding lagoon: ![]() I managed to snap an interesting pic of this flaring teal by holding the digi-cam on the rib and swinging through the bird.
