I use dry wads in my 12 bore London gun. I did not have "trouble" with fouling and of course with removable barrels, simple to clean after the shoot which ended up in a shoot off, 20 some rounds, IIRC. My first time shooting that gun in earnest. Our local shoot was handled with only 14 shots on clay birds. Damn good load in that gun.
